A handful of communities in B.C.'s Lower Mainland are part of national taste test for McDonald's new McVeggie sandwich.
The test will run from March 18 until April 14 in select restaurants in Langley, Richmond and Surrey, with the intention of gathering guest feedback. If the test is successful, it may launch in the future.
The McVeggie features a breaded patty made with a blend of vegetables (carrots, green beans, zucchini, peas, soybeans, broccoli and corn) and seasoning, topped with lettuce and mayo-style sauce served on a toasted sesame bun.
ѻýWhile our guests may have tried similar sandwiches at McDonaldѻýs globally, our McVeggie is uniquely Canadian,ѻý said Jeff Anderson, senior manager of culinary innovation at McDonaldѻýs Canada. ѻýWeѻýre always looking for new opportunities to innovate and build on our menu, and the McVeggie will give even more guests the opportunity to enjoy that delicious McDonaldѻýs flavour Canadians know and love.ѻý
Test restaurants will also be offering a Spicy Habanero McVeggie with the same patty and topped with creamy Habanero sauce.
ѻýWe know more people in Canada than ever before are looking for new flavours and for variety on our menus. Our goal is to continue to offer new and exciting choices to meet these needs. And the McVeggie does just that,ѻý said Francesca Cardarelli, chief marketing officer at McDonaldѻýs Canada. ѻýAs this is our first test of the McVeggie, weѻýre using this opportunity to gather insights and guestsѻý feedback so we can continue delivering on our commitment to serving great tasting, quality food we know Canadians will love and enjoy.ѻý
The McVeggie will also be available at select restaurants in Ontario and New Brunswick, specifically Brampton, Windsor, Dieppe, Moncton, Riverview, and Sussex.
