Courtney Koga is passionate about food.

Koga has worked in the food industry and has been surrounded by food for her entire life.

乌鸦传媒淓ver since I was a kid. I used to always cook dinner at home. I grew up watching Martha Stewart.乌鸦传媒� she said, adding her family gatherings have always been food oriented.

She started her food-truck business, The CrAsian Food Truck, in 2014 with her sister, Meiko Koga, 29.

CrAsian stands for 乌鸦传媒渃razy Asian,乌鸦传媒� a name the pair came up with last minute.

乌鸦传媒淚t乌鸦传媒檚 North American street food with asian flavour. It乌鸦传媒檚 actually a lot like us. We are half Japanese乌鸦传媒� we wanted to add our own flavour and flair to it,乌鸦传媒� said Courtney.

She recommends the Thai Burger, 乌鸦传媒淚t乌鸦传媒檚 the best thing that we have. You won乌鸦传媒檛 find a burger like that anywhere else,乌鸦传媒� she laughed.

The truck runs from April to mid-October and you can find the CrAsian sisters at local events, festivals, at UBCO and at Kettle River Brewery.

For the most part, the dynamic duo run the show.

乌鸦传媒淲e wake up, my sister does the shopping first thing in the morning乌鸦传媒� do some prep, drive the truck to the gas station乌鸦传媒� then drive it out to wherever we乌鸦传媒檙e going.乌鸦传媒�

Courtney grew tired of constantly unpacking food and decided to do something fun and creative.

Down the road, she wants to have her own restaurant.

For now Courtney, 27, manages at Raudz Regional Table in downtown Kelowna.

Last summer she was doing 85 hour work weeks.乌鸦传媒滻 don乌鸦传媒檛 know how I am still alive,乌鸦传媒� she said.

She attributes part of it to her sister.

乌鸦传媒淚乌鸦传媒檓 really fortunate I do have my sister, another great woman in business.乌鸦传媒� Your sister is your friend for life, she said.

For any woman who wishes to take a management position or start their own business, she said to 乌鸦传媒済o confidently in the direction that you choose,乌鸦传媒� adding the most important thing is confidence in yourself.
