Before local veteran Garry McCracken sets off for a historic bicycle ride, money can be raised in Oyama in support of the cause he's cycling for.
McCracken is set to cycle 2,500 kilometres from Vancouver to Winnipeg as part of The Road To Valour to support Wounded Warriors. On Saturday, May 31, Oyama Zipline Adventure Park is hosting Wounded Warriors Day to highlight the cause and McCracken's journey.
To celebrate the day, those in attendance can meet McCracken as well as enjoy 15 per cent off zipline tours, the adventure park, and the Monkey Park. Additionally, the children's play area will be free. Kids will also be able to build furry friends at the Furry Friend Toy Lodge or get their faces painted (by donation).
Hot dogs and burgers will be grilled by Lake Country fire responders while adults can enjoy a beer garden with cider from Oyama's Folktale Cidery or a Valour Lager from Kelowna's Three Lakes Brewing.
All proceeds raised throughout the day will go towards Wounded Warriors, which is a mental health organization that serves Trauma Exposed Organizations (TExO), Trauma Exposed Professionals (TExP), and Trauma Exposed Families (TExF).
