Between the hours of 7 a.m. and 2 p.m, last week Dennyѻýs Penticton sold 610 Grand Slams, raising over $3,000 to support women leaving a life of abuse and violence. (SOWINS Facebook)

Pentictonѻýs Dennyѻýs hit a grand slam, serving up over 600 Grand Slam breakfasts and raising more than $3,000 for South Okanagan Women in Needs Society (SOWINS).

Last week, the recently renovated Dennyѻýs hosted a Grand Slam Day, selling Grand Slam breakfasts for $4.99, with the proceeds going to SOWINS.

From 7 a.m. to 2 p.m., they sold 610 Grand Slams and raised more than $3,000 to support locals leaving a life of abuse and violence.

ѻýWe want to express a huge thank you to Dennyѻýs and the community for their incredible support,ѻý said SOWINS on their Facebook page.

SOWINS also thanked the staff at Dennyѻýs and SOWINS board members for making it such a successful day.

The next fundraiser for SOWINS is Bounce Radioѻýs Have a Heart Radiothon.

SOWINS received a donation matching pledge of $10,000 for the Have a Heart Radiothon. from now until March 8 will be matched up to $10,000. This means that every dollar you contribute will have double the impact in supporting individuals leaving a life of abuse and violence, said SOWINS.

The Radiothon will be live at Cherry Lane Shopping Centre on March 8.
