Now that the world knows who won a whopping $4.56 million on 乌鸦传媒淪quid Game: The Challenge,乌鸦传媒� Surrey resident Darylle Johnson is keen to talk about her time on the British reality-competition show.
The popular Netflix series, based on the South Korean drama 乌鸦传媒淪quid Game,乌鸦传媒� was filmed in London last January, nearly a year ago.
Crowned champion on Wednesday, Dec. 6, American contestant Mai Whelan, 55, pockets the biggest cash prize in reality-TV history.
Johnson, a Guildford-area designer of , says she enjoyed her time playing kid-friendly games as one of the 456 乌鸦传媒淪quid乌鸦传媒� contestants, including a handful of fellow Canadians.
She was player #273.
乌鸦传媒淚t was definitely fun,乌鸦传媒� Johnson told the Now-Leader in a phone call Thursday, Dec. 7.
乌鸦传媒淭he chances of winning the $4.56 million was obviously not high because there乌鸦传媒檚 a lot of contestants, but just the opportunity to be on the show 乌鸦传媒� I mean, it was the number-one show on Netflix in 73 countries in the first week with over 20 million views, I think, just huge.乌鸦传媒�
To become a contestant she endured six months of interviews with show producers.
乌鸦传媒淢ost reality shows have 10 to 20 contestants, so the process of picking all 456 was pretty crazy,乌鸦传媒� Johnson noted.
乌鸦传媒淎t the time I was digital nomading, primarily in Mexico, and somebody posted the casting video on social media. I was like, 乌鸦传媒極h, that乌鸦传媒檚 crazy.乌鸦传媒� I乌鸦传媒檇 never really thought about being on a reality show before, but that sounded fun, so I applied. I guess I kind of stuck out with my strange lifestyle of nomading around Mexico, and I乌鸦传媒檓 board game designer and business strategist. I stood out to them in that sense.乌鸦传媒�
Before Johnson was eliminated in the third episode, she was a lieutenant in a life-size version of the Battleship board game.

She says it乌鸦传媒檚 been a strange few weeks of having people ask questions about her time on 乌鸦传媒淪quid Game: The Challenge,乌鸦传媒� a 10-episode series that debuted in November.
乌鸦传媒淭hey乌鸦传媒檝e been like, 乌鸦传媒楬ow are you feeling, how are you doing?乌鸦传媒� My friends aren乌鸦传媒檛 confused, but they keep thinking I just did the show, because it乌鸦传媒檚 new for them and everybody else,乌鸦传媒� explained Johnson, a 2004 North Surrey Secondary grad.
乌鸦传媒淏ut it乌鸦传媒檚 all been very present in my life over the past year, and we weren乌鸦传媒檛 allowed to know what happened after we left, so I found out who won like everyone else.乌鸦传媒�
She continued.
乌鸦传媒淭here乌鸦传媒檚 this thing called astronaut syndrome, where an astronaut goes into space and they see the world from such a different perspective, such a crazy new experience for them, and then they come back down to real life,乌鸦传媒� she added. 乌鸦传媒淚t makes me feel like I need to have that high again, to have that crazy experience again after being back to normal now. It乌鸦传媒檚 a strange feeling.乌鸦传媒�
So, would she do another reality-TV game show?
乌鸦传媒淥h, hell yeah, but probably one with more strategy because I feel this one involved a lot of luck,乌鸦传媒� Johnson said.
乌鸦传媒�, so people should apply,乌鸦传媒� she added. 乌鸦传媒淚乌鸦传媒檓 a proponent for trying something new, even if you乌鸦传媒檙e afraid of something to just be brave despite the fear.
乌鸦传媒淧ersonally I grew up a very, very shy person with a lot of anxiety, and it乌鸦传媒檚 been a journey of doing the things that feel uncomfortable in order to break through that. I would just encourage people, whether it be for this show or something else in their life, to take the step and just do whatever the thing is, even if they乌鸦传媒檙e fearful of it. That乌鸦传媒檚 kind of the underlying message that I would put out there.乌鸦传媒�
