An Oyama farm is celebrating growers and their dedication to the community with a concert.

乌鸦传媒淎t Pradha Farm we look to support those who use self-sustaining practices by offering land use for ecological farming,乌鸦传媒� said founder, Genevieve Daniel. 乌鸦传媒淲e also show an appreciation of music, arts, and culture.乌鸦传媒� 

The June 29 event features bluegrass band Under the Rocks and new jazz outfit Kinfolk Nation, both from Kelowna.

Daniel said there is a message that goes along with the music.

乌鸦传媒淥ur intention is to raise awareness around the challenges within the farming industry and to promote and empower more farming initiatives.乌鸦传媒�

Noting Lake Country乌鸦传媒檚 historical agriculture roots, she added that Pradha Farm addresses modern issues including housing accessibility, food security, and bridging the past with the present.

Pradha乌鸦传媒檚 farmers live in tiny homes that can be driven away without leaving a footprint on the land, but allows them access to caring for crops and animals.

乌鸦传媒淲e believe we have a way that can support young farmers in accessing farmland which recognizes the importance of small-scale farming and food security in our communities.乌鸦传媒� Daniel said.

Her hope is that the Agricultural Land Commission will work with local municipalities to support struggling farmers.

Urban Harvest will be offering up fresh fruit and vegetables to concert goers, free or by donation, to support their weekly deliveries to the Kelowna Women乌鸦传媒檚 Shelter and The Bridge Youth and Family Services Society.
