UPDATE: West Kelowna mobile home fire determined to be electrical

Smoke was seen coming from the home just before 9 a.m.

Update: 3:55 p.m.

Investigators have determined that a fire that damaged a unit in the Paradise Mobile Home Park on Monday, July 14, was electrical in nature.

Crews responded to the 2000 block of Mount Boucherie Road just before 9 a.m.

The occupant and two pets were able to make it out safely with no injuries. One firefighter was taken to Kelowna General Hospital with a non-life-threatening injury and released after being assessed.

West Kelowna Fire Rescue says water runoff from the structure entered Okanagan Lake, and the Ministry for Environment responded from Kamloops to assess any impact to the lake.

 


West Kelowna fire crews are responding to a blaze at the Paradise mobile home park on Monday morning. 

Smoke could be seen rising from a unit off Boucherie Road, just before 9 a.m.

Fire crews arrived on the scene to find smoke and flame coming from the mobile home.

No apparent injuries have been reported in connection to the fire. 

BC Hydro, RCMP and Paradise Park security are all on scene.
