Kelowna's Prospera Place marks 25th anniversary

'This season wasnѻýt just about the concerts and events, it was about the people'

It was a season to remember at Prospera Place, as the downtown Kelowna arena celebrated its 25th anniversary with more than 200,000 guests walking through its doors.

From concerts and curling to Cirque du Soleil and Kelowna Rockets hockey, the 2024-25 season packed in over 80 events and brought some of the biggest names in entertainment to the Okanagan.

ѻýThis season wasnѻýt just about the concerts and events, it was about the people,ѻý said Graham Lee, President and CEO of GSL Group, which owns and operates the venue. ѻýProspera Place is more than just an arena, itѻýs a gathering place for big moments and memories, and weѻýre so proud to be a part of it with our community in the Okanagan.ѻý

Big-name highlights from the past year included sold-out shows by Riley Green and Sum 41, five nights of Cirque du Soleil, the 2025 Montanaѻýs Brier, and the Rockets drawing thousands of hockey fans.

The season also featured Rock the Lake which welcomed over 8,500 fans to a weekend of Canadian music. The festival also gave back, raising more than $10,000 for wildfire prevention and firefighter wellness, and donating another $10,000 in tickets for local firefighters and their families.

Since opening in 1999 with a performance by Moist, Prospera Place has hosted more than six million guests and brought music legends like Elton John, Jay-Z, Shania Twain, and Aerosmith to Kelowna.

In September, Prospera Place will host the Canadian Country Music Awards for the first time ever. Then, in May 2026, the 106th Memorial Cup returns for the first time since the Rockets lifted the trophy at home in 2004.

Fans can also look forward to performances by Bryan Adams, Sarah McLachlan, Blue Rodeo and others.

Prospera Place is undergoing several upgrades in partnership with the city. Improvements include a new scoreboard, updated sound and lighting systems, a renovated press box, and refreshed amenities.
