Central Okanagan-Similkameen-Nicola Conservative MP Dan Albas says he will be running in the next federal election.

He made the announcement on his Facebook account.

乌鸦传媒淥ver the past month, I乌鸦传媒檝e received many well-meaning, sincere expressions of goodwill regarding my supposed retirement from provincial politics,乌鸦传媒� Albas wrote. 乌鸦传媒淗owever, there乌鸦传媒檚 a small detail - it乌鸦传媒檚 actually my long-time friend and colleague MLA Dan Ashton who announced his retirement after the next British Columbia election, set for this fall.乌鸦传媒�

Albas thanked Ashton for his years of service, first as a Penticton councillor and mayor, and then as an MLA with the BC Liberal Party, now the BC United Party.

Albas served under Ashton as a city councillor and later shared an office with him in Summerland when he became an MP.

乌鸦传媒淚t乌鸦传媒檚 amusing that we乌鸦传媒檝e often been mistaken for each other due to sharing the same first name, initials, and office,乌鸦传媒� he said.

Albas also thanked West Kelowna MLA Ben Stewart, who is retiring from provincial politics this fall.

乌鸦传媒淚乌鸦传媒檓 grateful that voters have supported individuals like MLA Ashton and MLA Stewart, who have consistently advocated for efficient, common-sense approaches to our work, with these office co-locations being one tangible example.乌鸦传媒�

The next federal election is scheduled for October 2025.
