Emergency Support Services volunteers are working with the Drought Hill Wildfire.
On July 30, seven Emergency Support Services volunteers from Summerland and five from Penticton were deployed to Peachland to support the Regional District of Central Okanagan.
The volunteers operated a reception centre in Peachland, providing support to residents whose homes were under evacuation order.
Volunteers continued until late into the night, ensuring residents received timely information, essential resources and support.
Volunteers with the Animal Lifeline Emergency Response Team were also present to provide support to ensure the safety and well-being of animals during the response.

The Drought Hill Wildfire, discovered on July 30, is at a size of 57 hectares. It is listed as out of control.
The fire is two kilometres north of Peachland between Highway 97C and Highway 97.
Evacuation orders and an evacuation alert have been issued for the area.
At present, a total of 653 wildfires have been reported in British Columbia since April 1, with 723,756 hectares burned.
