The city has appointed Dwight Seymour as the new fire chief for the Kelowna Fire Department.
Seymour is replacing outgoing chief Travis Whiting who will be taking over the same role for the Whitehorse Fire Department in Yukon.
The incoming chief will officially step into the role on Feb. 19. He has been an assistant chief in training and prevention in Kelowna since 2021, and was promoted to deputy chief of operations the following year.
