The success that was the Okanagan Fest of Ale Craft Beer and Cider Festival in Penticton earlier this year has resulted in $50,000 in donations for more than a dozen local charities.

Net proceeds from the April 2023 event will be distributed to 16 local organizations, the Okanagan Fest of Ale Society has announced.

ѻýThis $50,000 donation will bring the total donations made by the society to $800,000,ѻý said Michael Stokker, president of the society. ѻýWe are one of the only not-for-profit craft beer festivals in B.C. and it is wonderful to be a part of an event that not only provides a fun and important festival to our city and craft beer community but also distributes important funding to charities in the South Okanagan.ѻý

In celebration of Penticton Beer Week, the charity presentation will be held on Oct. 23 at Slackwater Brewing.

Along with the money that will officially be donated, the event at Slackwater will also honour the work of the volunteers who helped make Fest of Ale another success earlier this year.

ѻýThe Fest of Ale volunteers are an integral part of this festival, and the event could not be possible without their hard work,ѻý Stokker added. ѻýEvery year, we try to recognize and celebrate the amazing dedication they have to our society, and we are looking forward to raising a glass to them on Monday (Oct. 23).ѻý

Charity recipients include:

ѻý South Okanagan Loss Society

ѻý Highway To Healing Support Society

ѻý Okanagan Similkameen Neurological Society
