For the fourth year, the Penticton will be host of the Pickleball for Mental Health tournament over Aug. 29 to 31.
The tournament is organized by the Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA) ѻý South Okanagan Similkameen branch, and will take place at the Robinson Park outdoor pickleball courts.
With two additional courts ready for this year, there will be more games for the over 450 participants to take part in across the various categories.
ѻýPickleball for Mental Health is all about having fun while supporting mental wellness,ѻý said Leah Schulting, executive director of CMHA-SOS. ѻýItѻýs a celebration of community and a chance to bring mental health to the forefront while raising funds for vital programs and services.ѻý
This yearѻýs tournament is presented by Skaha Hills the real estate development located past the Penticton Airport.
All proceeds stay local and support:
ѻý Unity Clubhouse ѻý A safe, supportive space for individuals living with diagnosed mental illness.
ѻý Education Programs ѻý Including suicide prevention, mental health first aid, and more.
ѻý Mental Health Advocacy ѻý One-on-one professional support for those in need.
The event will feature music, food sales, raffles, and free admission for spectators.
