Not everyone was clapping and cheering during Premier Christy Clarkѻýs visit to Kelowna.
The Premier was greeted at The Laurel Packinghouse, Tuesday night by supporters as she gave a speech about Kelowna, the leaders debate and standing against Trumpѻýs lumber tax.
ѻýThis province is built on hard work in the resource sector and Iѻým so disappointed this week when John Horgan stood with a supporter who called British Columbiaѻýs foundational industries in the resource sector; forestry, mining, oil and gasѻý he called them dinosaur industries,ѻý said Clark.
She then took a stance against Donald Trump.
ѻýHere we have facing perilous times just south of the border, a Donald Trump America that is fighting hard for American jobsѻý whose going to fight for Canadian jobs?ѻý she said she would take a stand against Trumpѻýs policies to protect Canadian jobs.
ѻýBritish Columbia needs a fighter,ѻý she said.
Three protesters held signs against the Site C Dam.
Protester Fae Shaw said she would like to speak with Clark about some facts on the dam.
ѻýSite C has never had proper reviewѻý we could do better with clean alternatives,ѻý she said. ѻýThis is going to cost us.ѻý
Shaw lives in the Kelowna-Mission riding and said she feels like Clark hasnѻýt heard what her riding has been saying.
ѻýShe didnѻýt show up at her constituents riding. Thereѻýs people that care about Site C.ѻý
Clark was not answering questions from the media Tuesday night.
