Revelstoke thrift store puts over $220K into community health care

12 different organizations and initiatives benefit from funding

The Revelstoke Hospital Auxiliary Thrift Store invested $227,138.47 back into the community this year through health care initiatives.

Customers of the Revelstoke Hospital Auxiliary Thrift Store are getting more bang for their buck as they've enabled the society to put $227,138.47 back into the community.

Shopping at the store just makes 'cents' which quickly add up for donations to the Queen Victoria Hospital and other local health care initiatives. The organization originally started in 1901 and collected $1,172.63, with the current incarnation founded in 1964 and increasing amounts being generated each year. 

While the lion's share of the funds raised goes to the hospital, 11 other organizations, societies and students were also supported throughout the year from November 2023 to October 2024. The full list includes:
