Summerland quilter Brandy Maslowski has been recognized for her podcast, Quilter on Fire, at the 2025 Women Podcasters Awards.

A Summerland quilt maker has been honoured for her podcast about quilting.

The show, in its fifth year, has more than 750,000 downloads and more than 200 episods. Listeners come from more than 20 countries.

ѻýThe reason I started this podcast was for the connection to surround myself with quilters who lift me up,ѻý Maslowski said when accepting the award.

ѻýIt has grown into a global community, sharing stories from a mom who made a quilted coat for her small child, to a teacher who's quilt about gun violence in schools, won best of show at Quilt Con.ѻý

Maslowski, a former firefighter, now travels extensively as a teacher, speaker and quilt judge.

She is also the editor of Quilting Arts Magazine and QuiltCon Magazine.

Her childrenѻýs picture book, Kristyѻýs Quilt, was published in 2014 and is illustrated by Summerland artist Marcia Stacy. The book is based on a true story and features 10-year-old girl who participated at a quilting retreat.
