The annual sunshine list for Vernon employees in 2024 has been released, and there are 102 city members who make over $100,000.
The employee remuneration and expenses list was presented to Vernon council at the Monday, May 26 meeting. The list is a part of the 2024 Statement of Financial Information (SOFI).
The top-paid employee is Patti Bridal, the city's chief administrative officer, earning $244,522.
Brent Bond is the next top earner at $197,709. Bond is a fire captain at Vernon Fire Rescue Services, but briefly lost his job in 2018, after being caught on camera having a "brief episode of consensual activity" with a dispatcher in the fire chief's office.
He was reinstated in 2019, after the fire union fought the dismissal. Bond was previously suspended in 2017 for verbally harassing a fellow firefighter.
Doug Imrich (now-retired fire captain) and David Lind (fire chief) make $193,695 and $193,621.
