A team representing the Kelowna Ringette Association returned home with gold medals in hand from the Spirit of Winter tournament in Langley last weekend.
In an all-Okanagan U14A championship final on Sunday, the Kelowna Rage edged the Vernon Venom 3-2.
ѻýIt was a strong team effort, we are very proud of all the girls,ѻý said U14A Rage coach Jenni Duff.
The Rage started the tournament slowly, posting a 2-2 record in the round robin but it was enough to advance to the playoffs.
In the semifinal, Kelowna and the Vancouver U14A Fire played to a 3-3 tie through regulation. After a scoreless overtime, the teams went to a shootout with the KRA reps winning 2-1.
Shea Taylor and Amelia Russo scored in the shootout, while Addison Cousins was solid in the Rage goal.
