Did you know McDonaldѻýs opened its first-ever Canadian franchise 50 years ago? If not, then you might be even more surprised to learn the companyѻýs first location was in Richmond, B.C.
To commemorate that historic event, the worldѻýs most popular restaurant chain will be re-opening the doors on Friday, June 23 for some throwback specials.
Theyѻýll be celebrating nostalgia with original uniforms, vintage cars, classic images and even 67 cent hamburgers! Ronald McDonald will also make an appearance to help give away a variety of prizes
ѻýReturning the iconic Golden Arches to their original home is a very special moment, and one that we are happy to share with the community, residents and long-time guests,ѻý said Joe Guzzo, owner of 13 restaurants including the Richmond location.
The original McDonaldѻýs opened on June 1, 1967 and is now one of nearly 200 locations in the province.
