There are 30 turkeys being prepped to serve at KelownaÎÚÑ»´«Ã½™s Gospel Mission.
The organization will be hosting its annual Thanksgiving meal on Oct. 8, at its shelters, and a Thanksgiving lunch for the unhoused outside the library parkade.
KGM director of emergency services Amber Webster said, ÎÚÑ»´«Ã½œIn the face of adversity, KGM seeks to humbly serve those that are experiencing homelessness by caringly providing a meal that is festive and fulsome. As an organization, we strive to create space for safety, belonging, and hope for all.ÎÚÑ»´«Ã½
Shelter dining rooms have been decorated to create a festive space and community members are put on each place mat for inspiration and hope for those sharing a meal at the table.
MP Tracy Gray and MLAs Renee Merriefield and Norm Letnick will be at the Leon Avenue shelter to help serve meals.
