Sicamous gardeners throwing down the gloves for curb appeal contest

Find out by entering the Sicamous Communities in Bloom (CiB) Curb Appeal Garden contest.

The CiB is calling for nominations from local petal pushers who have showstopping yards that are the envy of their block. The contest is open to all residents of Sicamous, with all sizes and styles welcome to throw down a gardening glove and challenge other community green thumbs. 

To enter, submit a ballot at Shuswaggi's General Store with the address of the garden being nominated by Wednesday, Aug. 20. As a fun option, people can also send in a photo to  for CiB to share on its Facebook page, as well as through the Sicamous Gardeners group.

Ballots will be counted, and winners announced and prizes awarded on Aug. 21. According to CiB, prizes include bragging rights, garden glory, a Miracle-Gro Best Garden Selection sign, and Miracle-Gro fertilizer.
