Peachlandѻýs downtown will be humming with horsepower this Sunday, May 18, as the 26th annual Peachland Classic Car Show rolls back into town.

Organized by the Peachland Chamber of Commerce, the event runs from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. along Beach Avenue between 1st Street and 6th Street. Itѻýs a ѻýrain or shineѻý show, and hundreds of classic cars are expected to line the waterfront for visitors to admire.

The event is by donation and features live music, and food.

With all the action comes a few traffic changes. Beach Avenue will be closed between 1st and 6th Street, and Waldo Way will temporarily switch to one-way traffic, flowing south to north. The Beach Avenue Boat Launch will also be closed during the event.

Parking options include Clements Avenue and the vacant lot next to Peachland Elementary School. A free shuttle will run from Peachland Village Mall to the show area between 10:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Public parking is also available near T Boat Launch/Doggy Beach and along Beach Avenue north of 8th Street, as well as on surrounding streets. Volunteers will have designated parking at the Peachland Community Centre at 4450 6th Street.

Illegally parked vehicles may be ticketed and towed.

Local businesses will be open, and the Heritage Park Splash Pad will be running.
