Search reactivated for missing man presumed drowned in Kamloops

Search and Rescue in collaboration with the RCMP and aerial and watercraft support will be making efforts to locate the missing man.

The search for the 23 year-old who is missing after jumping off the Overlanders Bridge into the North Thompson River on July 30, 2025  in Kamloops continues. 

Kamloops RCMP media relations officer Cpl. Dana Napier told Black Press on Friday August 8, 2025, Search and Rescue in collaboration with the RCMP and aerial and watercraft support will be making efforts to locate the missing man.

"In consultation with KSAR and based on past experience, there is the potential the missing person could surface therefore SAR has been re-activated," Napier said in an email. "A determination will be made to deploy the dive team based on tangible information that may support a specific search area or target."

No further information available at this time, if anything changes an update will be provided, Napier said.
