Central Okanagan students were up to the challenge on Saturday, as they competed in the annual First LEGO League 乌鸦传媒楳asterpiece乌鸦传媒� regional qualifying tournament.

On Feb. 10 at UBCO乌鸦传媒檚 Engineering, Education, and Management Building, 13 teams totalling around 75 kids aged 9 to 16 from Kelowna, Lake Country, and Vernon competed in the event.

Central students are taking part in the First Lego Masterpiece tournament on UBCO乌鸦传媒檚 campus throughout the day on Saturday.

For this year乌鸦传媒檚 challenge, students had to research, explore, and create innovative prototype situations for real-world problems in the world of art, technology, and hobbies. Additionally, teams were to build a robot that was to complete missions in a timely fashion while also finding a way to improve the audience乌鸦传媒檚 experience watching their creation.

乌鸦传媒淯BCO is always happy to host events such as this. Our campus is a place of innovation, creativity, and critical thinking,乌鸦传媒� said UBCO associate vice-president of students Dale Mullings. 乌鸦传媒淚t乌鸦传媒檚 great to have students from Central Okanagan Public Schools on campus, interacting with our student and faculty volunteers while they try new, imaginative projects. The masterpiece challenge is an event students take part in all around the world, in more than 80 countries.
