A wildfire has ignited about 30 kilometres south of Merritt Saturday afternoon.
BC Wildfire Service reports the fire is 0.1 hectares in size, or 1,000 square metres.
The fire was sparked Aug. 2 and is believed to have been caused by lightning.
The wildfire is in a remote area west of Highway 5A. It is classified as out of control, meaning it is expected to spread beyond its current perimeter.
The precise location of the wildfire is listed by BC Wildfire as Davis Lake.
