Fresh off two awards at the 2023 British Columbia Country Music Awards (BCCMA), West Kelowna country artist Ben Klick is out with an original Christmas song and music video.
Klick was awarded the Gaylord Wood Traditional Artist of the Year, and the Presidentѻýs Citation awards in November.
ѻýIt was a shock to have won two awards at this yearѻýs BC Country Music Awards,ѻý Klick said. ѻýBeing recognized by the community for what I do and who I am as an artist personally and professionally is something I donѻýt take lightly.ѻý
The Gaylord Wood Award is presented to the act whose music is based on traditional country style, but is different from what is considered mainstream country.
The Presidentѻýs Citation is based on factors such as community involvement, artistry, and overall support and professionalism within country music.
Klick was recognized for raising more than $170,000 for the Multiple Sclerosis Society of Canada through his fundraiser Music Fest MS.
He also recorded his brand new Christmas song ѻýSanta Rides A Harleyѻý, released Dec. 1, at Studio Downe Under in Abbotsford.
The music video was filmed in Kelowna and will be released Dec. 8.
ѻýIѻýve always loved motorbikes,ѻý Klick added. ѻýMy dad and I used to go to the Vancouver Motorcycle Show every year when I was growing up.ѻý
In the coming months, Klick will be playing several shows showcasing new music, including his latest singles and unreleased songs, before heading to Nashville at the end of January.
