Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre has tapped longtime Okanagan MP Dan Albas to take on a key role in the partyѻýs shadow cabinet, naming him the new Shadow Minister of Transport.

Albas, who represents the riding of Okanagan Lake West ѻý South Kelowna, brings over a decade of parliamentary experience to the position.

ѻýDan has a deep understanding of the challenges and opportunities in Canadaѻýs transportation systems,ѻý said Poilievre in a statement. ѻýHeѻýs exactly the kind of voice we need to hold the government accountable on infrastructure and transport.ѻý

Over the years, Albas has focused on issues like regulatory reform and small business support. As Shadow Minister, heѻýll be tasked with scrutinizing the Liberal governmentѻýs handling of transportation policyѻýparticularly when it comes to delays, cost overruns, and project mismanagement.

ѻýI am honoured to take on this important responsibility,ѻý Albas said. ѻýFrom coast to coast to coast, Canadians are feeling the consequences of neglect in our transportation sector. I look forward to working with industry leaders, stakeholders, and citizens to ensure our transportation systems are built for the future.ѻý

He added that his priorities will include pushing for safer, more accessible, and economically sound transportation policies that serve all Canadians.
Albas was elected to his fifth term in Parliament in the 2025 federal election.
