While a heat warning has been in place all week for the majority of the Okanagan, a thunderstorm could also take place.

At 10:48 a.m. on Thursday, July 31, Environment Canada issued a severe thunderstorm watch from south of Salmon Arm through the Central Okanagan and down to the Canada-United States border. This is the same area under the heat warning.

"Conditions are favourable for the development of severe thunderstorms that may be capable of producing strong wind gusts, large hail and heavy rain," said Environment Canada.

Temperatures are also expected to reach 35-38 degrees.
