Six people rescued after being stranded in hills above Peachland

Three side-by-sides become stuck at the bottom of a gully and called 911 for help

Six people were pulled from the hills above Peachland, in the dark, by Central Okanagan Search and Rescue (COSAR) on Sunday night (Feb. 18).

ѻýThe three side-by-sides had become stuck at the bottom of a gully and, after hours trying to get out, called 911 for help,ѻý reads a post on COSARѻýs Facebook page.

COSAR sent in an initial snowmobile team to assess the situation, followed by its tracked utility terrain vehicle (UTV).

ѻýThe stranded party had some medical concerns that elevated the urgency,ѻý the post also read.

The six individuals were transferred by snowmobile to the UTV and brought to a staging area on Brenda Mines Road.

This was COSARѻýs fifth rescue in the last nine days and their 18th of the year.
