All evacuation alerts for the Drought Hill wildfire in Peachland have been rescinded.

The fire sparked July 30 from a vehicle fire on Highway 97.

Hot weather and wind pushed the blaze into the bush, prompting the evacuation of about 400 properties and shut down both Highway 97 and 97C for several hours.

Yesterday, Aug. 4, the fire was reclassified as under control after reaching 57 hectares.
