Wildfire near Summerland remains held: BC Wildfire Service

The Darke Creek wildfire started Aug. 3. 2025 and is believed to have been caused by a lightning strike.

The Darke Creek wildfire between Peachland and Summerland remains at under one hectare, according to the latest information available from the BC Wildfire Service.

The blaze, believed to be started by lightning, was discovered on Aug. 3. The fire is currently being held with one initial attack crews and one helicopters assigned to the blaze.

There are no evacuation orders or alerts associated with the fire.

The Drought Hill wildfire in Peachland, which started on July 30 and burned through 57 hectares is now under control.

A handful of properties in the area remain on evacuation alert.
