2 taken into custody following shooting on property outside Princeton

Police respond to Summers Creek Road near Princeton.

RCMP responded to a report of shots fired on Summers Creek Road near Princeton, Aug. 14. 

According to Sgt. Jason Bayda, officers arrived at about 11:30 a.m. and discovered two people on a residential property who had allegedly fire guns at one another. 

ѻýDue to the shots being fired, the RCMP Southeast District Emergency Response Team was dispatched to the area to assist,ѻý said Sgt. Bayda.

No one was injured in the shooting.

Both suspects were taken into custody, with one person being released shortly after with a pending future court date.

A 57-year-old man remains in custody and is scheduled to appear before the courts.

ѻýWe realize incidents such as these can create fear and anxiety in a communityѻý, said Sgt Bayda. ѻýWe are confident this was an isolated incident and any risk to the public was quickly averted by the quick arrestsѻý.

The investigation is ongoing.
