Santa will be coming to town, but not for another 10 months.
That hasn乌鸦传媒檛 stopped two Salmon Arm Observer sales consultants from looking ahead.
Laura Lavigne and Tammy Howkins believe Salmon Arm should reinstate the annual Santa Claus parade and are asking city council to give them the go-ahead for a 乌鸦传媒渘ighttime extravaganza乌鸦传媒� at 6 p.m. on Dec. 1.
乌鸦传媒淲e乌鸦传媒檇 like to build some excitement in town for Christmas and bring families together,乌鸦传媒� says Lavigne, noting the proposed parade would follow the same route as the annual Fall Fair Parade. 乌鸦传媒淲e hope this will grow into having different events; this could be the kickoff for a hockey game or late-night shopping.乌鸦传媒�
In their letter to council, Lavigne and Howkins have noted their willingness to strike a committee to organize what they hope will become a successful annual event.
乌鸦传媒淥ur intention is to have brightly lighted floats, and we hope council is willing to have an official downtown 乌鸦传媒渓ighting up乌鸦传媒� at the same time,乌鸦传媒� reads the letter. 乌鸦传媒淢any people have spoken with us and have said they very much want this event and no one can understand why Salmon Arm does not have anything along this line, when smaller places such as Enderby, Blind Bay etc do.乌鸦传媒�
The letter is on the Feb. 14 City of Salmon Arm council agenda.
