No smoke, no rain, and a slight breeze in the midday sun made for perfect conditions for Keremeos' annual Kars Under the K on Aug. 3.
Memorial Park was filled with cars, trucks, motorcycles and vehicles of all shapes and sizes.
Outside the main show there were more vehicles parked on the streets all around the park, either because their owners wanted to leave early, or because they didn't want to enter into the competition.
Even with all the cars, there was still plenty of room for people to get around and look inside all the parts of the vehicles on display.
Hundreds of people came down to take it all in, with many grabbing breakfast and then lunch from the Keremeos Rodeo Association at the concession stand.
The funds from the meals they serve go to support the running of the annual rodeo every year.
The Similkameen Community Pool had plenty of swimmers taking a dive in to get a bit of relief from the heat.
Local businesses contributed more than 50 prizes for entrants into the show, from locally grown fresh fruit to car detailing packages to oil changes and beyond.
The 50/50 draw, always a favourite and a sold-out hit, with all the funds raised from those tickets going to the Similkameen Starfish Pack program.
The program supports local students every weekend during the school year with a backpack filled with food that they can take home for meals to keep their growing minds and bodies fueled up.
The main winners each year, of Best In Show, People's Choice and Mayor's Choice, become part of the car show's annual t-shirt to commemorate each year.
Many of the past winners come back as regular guests, with one group returning from Alberta as just one example.
With the Kars driven away back home, the next big event to take over Memorial Park will be the Similkameen Sizzle on Sept. 20.
