One arrested, then released after woman shot and killed in Penticton

The investigation is still ongoing the RCMP have said

A woman was shot and killed in Penticton on June 7. 

According to an RCMP press release, a person was arrested in connection with the shooting and then released, while the investigation is ongoing. 

Officers were called to the 600 block of Lakeshore Drive after the shooting was reported, where they located the woman with a significant gunshot wound inside an apartment building.

She was pronounced deceased at the scene. 

Penticton RCMP Investigative Services is conducting the investigation into the homicide.

Scott Hanry, Penticton RCMP Investigative Services Commander. ѻýWe would like to thank the public for their support as we continue to investigate this incident.ѻý

The shooting death is an isolated event and Staff Sgt. Hanry stated there is no concern for public safety.

Investigators are not identifying the victim at this time, as the investigation is in its early stages.
