A sobriety check on a driver escalated quickly with two individuals arrested for drug possession.
At 11:30 p.m. on July 24, the Sicamous RCMP stopped an SUV on Main Street to check for sobriety of the driver and a valid licence.
"The two occupants were arrested for possession of drugs for the purpose of trafficking and a search was conducted where 30 grams of methamphetamine, $1,000 cash and a scale with drug residue were seized," Sgt. Murray McNeil said in a media release.
A 44-year old man and 30-year old woman, both from Sicamous, were released from custody at the scene, while police continue to investigate the matter.
