Vernon Fire Rescue Services crews were quick to respond to reports of smoke behind a major Vernon company.
Crews were called to a fire producing a fair amount of smoke in the trees behind Kal Tire's head office located off Kalamalka Lake Road.
The call came in around 3:15 p.m. Monday, Aug. 11.
Vernon fire chief David Lind said the blaze was an estimated .1 to .2 hectares in size.
"The fire is suspected to have been human cased, although that has not been confirmed," said Lind. "The fire was a low vigour surface fire (rank 2), and crews were able to extinguish it without much difficulty."
The wildfire danger class is currently high within the City of Vernon.
