The Kelowna Rockets fell 6-5 to the Spokane Chiefs on Tuesday, Nov. 5.

The start of the 2025/26 Kelowna Rockets regular season is just 107 days.

On Wednesday, June 4, the team announced they will open the season welcoming the reigning WHL Western Conference champion Spokane Chiefs to Prospera Place.

This marks the third time the Rockets are playing Spokane in their season opener. The two previous matches have resulted with the score of 4-3 in overtime, with Kelowna winning to start the 2019-2020 season and Spokane winning to open the 1996-1997 season.

The game will also mark the beginning of the Rockets Memorial Cup run, as they are hosting the prestigious CHL tournament next May.

Former Rocket Andrew Cristall will not be playing for Spokane as he has aged out of the league.

A week later, on Sept. 26, the Rockets will be apart of history and a new rivalry will ignite as Kelowna will face the Penticton Vees for the first time in the their home opener at the South Okanagan Events Centre.
