While its still seven weeks before the Canadian Junior Football League (CJFL) begins, the Okanagan Sun are set to hose their first exhibition game along with an open house this weekend.
On Saturday, May 31, the Sun will be hosting the Calgary Gators from the Alberta Football League in a controlled scrimmage where the quarterbacks are not live and with a full compliment of special teams and referees.
The Gators are a senior mens team and the current Canadian Major Football League Champions. Last season, the Sun won their 18th British Columbia Football Conference championship and lost in the CJFL final.
Kick off is at 6 p.m. at the Mission Recreation Park turf field.
Earlier in the day, the Sun will be hosting an open house at their new training facility located at the Landmark 3 building at 1632 Dickson Ave. The event beings at 10 a.m. and is for all registered Kelowna Minor Football players and parents to view the space.
