Jiřà Kamas is Hlinka Gretzky Cup-bound.
The Penticton Vees defenceman has been named to the Czech National Team for the upcoming tournament, an annual best-on-best international showcase for U18 players.
Kamas, a native of Praha, Czechia, was selected 62nd overall by the Vees in the 2025 Canadian Hockey League Import Draft. He later signed a WHL Scholarship and Development Agreement with Penticton.
This will mark Kamas' third international appearance for Czechia, having previously represented his home country at the 2024 World U17 Challenge and the 2025 IIHF U18 World Championship.
The six-foot-two blue liner, 17, spent last season with HC Plzeň, splitting time between the U17 and U20 levels and tallying 26 points in 45 regular-season games.
Kamas is one of three WHL skaters set to play for Czechia at the Hilinka Gretzky Cup, which takes place from Aug. 11 to 16 in Brno, Czechia, and Trencin, Slovakia.
Czechia won silver at the event in 2023 and 2024.
