Race to the finish line at Apple Race Series national championships in Kelowna

The event shut down some downtown Kelowna streets

The competition was fast and furious in downtown Kelowna as the Apple Race Series National Championships began on Saturday, Aug. 9.

Usually the Kelowna Argus Apple Triathlon, this year Kelowna was selected to host the Triathlon Canada Sprint, Standard & Standard Aquabike Distance Triathlon Championships.

The events started on Saturday as some downtown streets were closed for bike portions of the triathlons. There are different events for different age categories with the action continuing into Sunday.

This event also acts as a qualifier for the 2026 World Championships in Pontvedra, Spain.
