June 21, golfers will be saying 乌鸦传媒渇ore乌鸦传媒� and raising a whole lot more during the Putts for Paws charity golf tournament.
Teeing off in the18-hole Texas Scramble style tournament at Black Mountain Golf course, the charity event will be raising funds for the Okanagan Humane Society (OHS).
The tournament will be presented by Darcy Feth of IG Wealth Management and all funds raised will go to local animals in need.
乌鸦传媒淢y wife Karen and I have been doing this event for many years to raise money for local animals, to date we have raised more than 100,000 for animals,乌鸦传媒� said Darcy Feth, event organizer.
Feth said he and his wife are animal lovers with a few 乌鸦传媒渇ur babies at home乌鸦传媒� and so when they learned about what OHS was doing in the community it was a no-brainer when it came to which charity the tournament would be in support of.
OHS has been dedicated to assisting animals in the Okanagan Valley since 1996, covering areas from Osoyoos to the Shuswap. In the last 26 years, the charity has spayed or neutered more than 50,000 animals and continues to support thousands of animals each year.
乌鸦传媒淥HS assisted over 4,150 animals last year through our rescue, pet assistance, and adoption programs,乌鸦传媒� said Romany Runnalls, president of the board of directors. 乌鸦传媒淟ast year was a record-breaking year for saving local animals, and so far in 2025, we're on track to match those numbers.乌鸦传媒�
The tournament is still looking for more golfers, who will be able to win prizes, bid in a silent auction, have a buffet dinner and of course pet some puppies.
The cost of golfing is $200 per player or $750 per team.
Last year, the tournament raised more than $28,000 for OHS. With the average cost to care for one animal at $350, the event raised enough money to support more than 80 local animals.
乌鸦传媒淲e have a collaborative, low-cost model to animal welfare which ensures the majority of all donations go directly to medical care of animals. This may be emergency
medical procedures, spay and neuters or basic medical care like vaccines, deworming and microchip,乌鸦传媒� says Runnalls.
The charity has more than 150 volunteer foster homes throughout the Okanagan that care for up to 300 animals at one time.
The Putts for Paws golf tournament is set for Saturday, June 21 with a shotgun start at 2 p.m.
