Multiple arriving and departing Air Canada flights have been cancelled at the Kelowna International Airport on Saturday, Aug. 16 due to the Air Canada flight attendant strike.

Some flights departing Kelowna International Airport (YLW) have been cancelled due to the strike by Air Canada flight attendants.

As of 8:30 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 16, three Air Canada flights, all scheduled for Toronto, have been cancelled. The airline has seven other flights scheduled on Saturday set to head to Vancouver and Calgary. As of now, YLW lists the flights as on time.

Additionally, three flights that were supposed to arrive in Kelowna have also been cancelled -- two from Toronto and one from Montreal.

The planned strike from Air Canada's flight attendants started at 10:30 p.m. Pacific time Friday night (Aug. 15).

The Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE) represents about 10,000 flight attendants between Air Canada and Air Canada Rouge.
