Jason Persaud can add the title "go-kart racing champ" to his Linked-in profile
The Excito Life owner and team of one took the top spot on the podium for the fastest time in the first racing season of the Thompson Okanagan Racing Club (TORC) at Salmon Arm Go-Karts & Mini Golf.
The season consisted of four race days, two Wednesdays in July and two in August, with the finals taking place on Thursday, Aug. 14 (rescheduled from Aug. 13 due to weather).
In addition to a $100 prize, Persaud earned bragging rights for his "blazing laps and precision driving all season long," wrote club and race organizer Dustin Serviss in an email. Second place winners, the Jacobson Ford SpeedLab team, were praised for their consistent speeds and "fierce racecraft," while third place champs the CKMP (Carl Kuster Mountain Park) Chaos were acknowledged for their "smart lines and clutch performances when it counted."
The competition, pitting representatives from local businesses against one another on the race track, was all in fun, initiated by Serviss to bring people together for some Formula 1-inspired summer fun.
Serviss, of Serviss Wealth Management, is already planning for an "even bigger and faster TORC for next season."
"Keep your Wednesdays clear ÎÚÑ»´«Ã½” weÎÚÑ»´«Ã½™ll be back on the grid before you know it," said Serviss.
