Severe thunderstorm watch in place for Cariboo, Shuswap, Revelstoke

Environment Canada issued the watch just after 9 a.m.

A severe thunderstorm watch is in place for the Cariboo, Shuswap, and Revelstoke on Saturday morning, Aug. 16.

Environment Canada says current weather conditions are favourable for a thunderstorm in the Cariboo, Shuswap, and Revelstoke.

On Saturday, Aug. 16, just after 9 a.m., the government's weather agency issued a severe thunderstorm watch, stretching from Quesnel, south to Barriere, and east to Revelstoke. 

Ashcroft, Kamloops, and Salmon Arm are all just outside the watch area.

"The development of severe thunderstorms that may be capable of producing strong wind gusts, large hail and heavy rain," stated Environment Canada. "When thunder roars, go indoors."
