1 arrested, 1 taken to hospital in Canada Day dust-up in Kelowna

Officers were in the area Tuesday morning

A police presence in the 200 block of Drysdale Road on Tuesday was due to an altercation between two people known to each other. 

RCMP were called to a home at about 10:30 a.m., July 1, after reports of an altercation, where one person suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to hospital.

The other individual was arrested on scene without incident.

According to Cpl. Allison Konsmo, this was an isolated matter and there is no danger to public safety.

ѻýThis is an ongoing investigation and no other details will be provided at this time,ѻý said Cpl. Konsmo.


A police appearance in Kelowna's Glenmore neighbourhood on Canada Day morning (Tuesday, June 1) resulted in tape being put up around a residential home.

According to social media posts, around 12 members of the Kelowna RCMP were on Drysdale Boulevard. 

It's unknown at this time why officers were in the area.
