The Okanagan Connector is expecting up to five centimetres of wet snow starting Thursday night, May 14.

With the May long weekend a day away, Mother Nature might be changing travellers plans.

On Thursday, May 15, Environment Canada issued a special weather statement for the Okanagan Connector, stating up to five centimetres of wet snow is possible because of a frontal system.

The precipitation is expected to start Thursday night and go into Friday morning.

As temperatures rise on Friday, the expected wet snow will melt away.

"Please be prepared to adjust your driving as weather conditions at high elevations may change quickly," stated Environment Canada. "Slow down and maintain a safe following distance. Weather in the mountains can change suddenly resulting in hazardous driving conditions."
