UPDATE: Vehicle hits rock face on Highway 97 south of Vernon

Traffic came to a stand still on Highway 97 briefly Wednesday afternoon when a vehicle drove into the rock wall.

UPDATE Thursday, July 17: Vernon North Okanagan RCMP responded to a two-vehicle collision on the same side of Highway 97 South, a couple of kilometres past the Kalamalka Lake Lookout.

Two vehicles were travelling south when they collided, causing one of the vehicles to spin and leave the roadway.

The driver of one of the vehicles was taken from the scene for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

Traffic is a little slow going Wednesday afternoon (July 16) on Highway 97 south of Vernon.

A vehicle drove into the rock face a few kilometres south of Birnie Road.

Traffic is reduced to a single lane in the southbound direction as emergency crews are on scene.
