Vernon boxer jabs to victory at Quesnel bout

A Vernon boxer jabbed, punched and uppercutted his way to a well-earned win. 

Scott Griffins competed for the Vernon Boxing Club at the Rumble 34 competition, hosted by Quesnel's 2 Rivers Boxing Club on Saturday, June 7.

Griffins competed against Quesnel's Heera Panesar in the 155-pound division.

The fight went the distance, where Griffins was able to pressurize Panesar in the third and final round, and come away with a unanimous decision win.

"Scott looked like a pro in the final round, landing upper cuts," said his coach, Brian Jones. "It was a hard-fought, well-earned victory."
