For the second year in a row, Trainer Revenge will turn sweat into support for mental health programs in Kelowna.
All proceeds from the May 23, fitness event will be used to support Third Space Charity, a Kelowna-based non-profit that
provides accessible, pay-what-you-can counselling for adults aged 18 to 29.
The fundraiser is a way for people to turn the tables and give REC Fitness trainers a taste of their own medicine.
REC Fitness members can 'purchase' individual exercises like burpees, lunges, sprints, hanging knee tuck-ups and skips, that the trainers will complete as part of a public workout at the studio's location on Clement Avenue.
"IÎÚÑ»´«Ã½™ve been a long-time member at this gym, and I know first-hand how it feels to be handed some tough love from these trainers. The desire for a little revenge is real ÎÚÑ»´«Ã½” might as well put it to good use," joked Megan Woodruff, the executive director of Third Space Charity.
Additionally, every dollar donated ÎÚÑ»´«Ã½“ up to $5,000 ÎÚÑ»´«Ã½“ will matched by an anonymous REC fitness member.
